Introduction
=============
Pop-up Inspector is designed to prevent annoying pop-up windows when surfing the Internet.
Requirements
=============
Pop-up Inspector V1.5.0 supports all language versions of:
Windows 98, SE, ME
Windows NT4 Workstation or Server (*)
Windows 2000 Professional or Server (*)
Windows XP Home or Professional (*)
(*) You must be logged in with Administrator rights.
Installation
=============
To install Pop-up Inspector, simply run the setup.exe file. For reference, the following files are distributed with Pop-up Inspector:
pop-up inspector.exe
license.txt
readme.txt
logo.gif
logobig.jpg
setup.log
uninstall.exe
How to Use
===========
To enable blocking, simply run Pop-up Inspector and click the CONTINUE button to minimize it to the System Tray. Note: When blocking is enabled, the flashlight icon in the System Tray will have a red circle with a slash through it.
Additional features available under Applications Settings include:
'Beep on Block' - When enabled, this option provides an audible notification (e.g. 'a beep') when a pop-up window is blocked.
'Run at StartUp' - When enabled, this option ensures that Pop-up Inspector is automatically loaded whenever Windows is rebooted or restarted.
'Do not show this form' - When enabled, this option prevents the Application Settings window from appearing when Pop-up Inspector is launched. Note: This option is often used in conjunction with the 'Run at Startup' option.
'Block Ads with Menubar' - When enabled, this option provides the ability to display pop-up windows if the CTRL key is pressed. See 'Known Issues' for further explanation.
Known Issues
=============
If the 'Block Ads with Menubar' is enabled, Hyperlinks on web pages and in e-mails that require opening a new browser window will be blocked. In order to display the new browser window, you will need to HOLD down the CTRL key and click the link, wait until the pop-up window opens and then release the CTRL key.
Uninstallation
===============
To uninstall Pop-up Inspector, you must first disable and then exit Pop-up Inspector.
To disable, right-click the flashlight icon in the System Tray and select 'Disable'. To exit, right-click the flashlight icon in the System Tray and select 'Exit'. After Pop-up Inspector has been disabled and exited, click the uninstall application included in the Program Group or Add Remove Program Files applet within the Control Panel.
Note: If Pop-up Inspector is not disabled and/or exited at the time of uninstallation, some files may not be uninstalled or deleted. If you would like to manually delete these files, simply delete the 'Pop-up Inspector' directory found under /Program Files.
